Che Zakiah Che Din
Independent Non-Executive Director
Che Zakiah Che Din was appointed as an Independent Non- Executive Director of Maybank on 1 March 2018. She also serves as a member of the Audit Committee, Credit Review Committee, and Board Technology Committee of the Board.
She holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics from University of Malaya, Malaysia.
Che Zakiah has 35 years of experience working with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM). She joined BNM in 1982 and served in various departments and positions. She was the Director of Financial Conglomerates Supervision Department of BNM since 2004 until her retirement on 30 April 2017. Her main responsibility under this role was to oversee the implementation of prudential supervision on 8 domestic banking groups on consolidated basis. The supervision focused on the enforcement of prudential regulations and measures to mitigate Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and combating the financing of terrorism (CFT) risks.
Within the Maybank Group, Che Zakiah currently sits on the Board of Maybank Investment Bank Berhad and Maybank International Holdings Sdn Bhd. She is also the Chairman of the Board of Members of Maybank Securities Limited (Vietnam).
Currently, Che Zakiah is a director of FIDE Forum. She was previously a Public Interest Director of the Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia and also a member of the Investment Panel, Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT).
