In conjunction with Invest ASEAN 2022: Maybank Business Sustainability Series, Maybank Islamic will be organising a Panel Session: “Shaping a Green Islamic Capital Market (Opportunities & Trends)” which aims to generate an active discourse on the work required to strengthen the Islamic Finance’s global leadership position in the Green Islamic Capital Market. At these virtual event panellists will present their regional and global market perspectives on this theme, incorporating current industry trends and market landscapes.

Stella Cox CBE has worked within the Islamic financial marketplace for more than thirty years Since 1998 she has been the Managing Director of DDCAP Group, which is a leading provider of capital market intermediary services and related technology solutions to Islamic financial market institutions Since 2015 Stella has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the RFI Foundation, which acts as a catalyst to link together responsible Islamic finance, and she represents DDCAP within the Islamic Finance and the UN Sustainable Development Goals ( Taskforce, the inaugural meeting of which took place in July 2020 convened by the Islamic Finance Council UK ( in partnership with the UK Government Since 2014 Stella has been Chair of the Islamic Finance Market Advisory Group formed by TheCityUK and she represents DDCAP on the UK Islamic Fintech Panel In June 2016 Stella was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire ( Stella was honoured for her services to the Economy and, specifically, as a Champion for the Development of Islamic Finance in the UK Stella was ranked number 1 amongst the 100 Most Influential Women in Islamic Finance’ in the ISFIRE WOMANi 2018 Report and was appointed Patron in Chief of WOMANi in April 2019 In July 2019 Stella became a Freeman of the City of London.

Dr Hurriyah El Islamy is the winner of Bank Indonesia award as “Best National and Global Islamic Finance Activist/Proponent and Professional” and the first recipient of “IIUM Tokoh Alumni” award. She is currently the Executive Board Member of Badan Pengelola Keuangan Haji Indonesia in charge of Foreign Investment and International Relations and is a member of the IsDB’s APIF Supervisory Committee and Board of Trustee of RFI Foundation. With over two decades of experience globally, she was IMF Expert in Islamic Finance and Capital Markets and she served, among others, as part of senior management of Islamic financial institutions and banking group in Bahrain and Malaysia. She was trained in Leadership in General Counsel by Harvard Law School and was recently awarded GMCA by Judge Business School, Cambridge University. She wrote multiple publications in several disciplines including Islamic finance and is member of IFN Advisory Board. She has been providing advice and consultancy to regulators and/or entities in several jurisdictions on Islamic finance related matters. In addition to being a practitioner with impact, she had also drafted laws and regulations for several countries that drew the face and the state of Islamic Finance in those nations today.

Nor Shahrizan is currently the Deputy CEO, Maybank Islamic Berhad and Head, Group Islamic International. Shahrizan holds a MBA specializing in Islamic Banking and Finance from the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Finance and Accounting from Indiana University, Bloomington, USA Experience Shahrizan joined Maybank Group in November 2009 as the Director of Islamic Initiative under the LEAP 30 Transformation Program In August 2010 Shahrizan was appointed as the Head of Rates Trading, looking after the bank’s trading and investment books under the Global Markets Islamic His portfolio expanded when he was appointed the Head of Global Markets Islamic in December 2010 managing an asset of RM 15 billion Shahrizan has over 20 years of experience, of which he spent 12 years with Citibank Berhad where he started as a Management Associate and left as the Vice President, Investor Sales Desk a client coverage unit within the Treasury department looking after non-banking Financial Institutional clients Prior to joining Maybank Group, Shahrizan was the Assistant General Manager of Market Risk Risk Analytics of Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad from 2005 2009
