Short Term Financing

Short-Term Financing is a financing facility that allows clients to extend their settlement period for up to 10 days. The normal settlement period for investing in shares is 3 days. Depending on the clients' cash and share balance, which act as collaterals for the facility, Short-Term Financing provides the possibility to heighten investing goals and plans.

Maybank Investment Bank Berhad provides short-term financing based on your cash and share balance which will act as collaterals for the facility
The amount of leverage is:

Cash

Up to 2.5X

Shares*

Up to 1.5X, net all fee and charges

*Subject to Bank's internal price capping and acceptable collateral from time to time.

The trading limit shall be made available at 166.67% margin position
A margin call level is at 150%
If the value of your shares equity falls below 130%, the company will liquidate your position to raise the margin position to at least 150%

Outstanding position after T+10

In the event of an outstanding position after T + 10, force selling will be executed on all outstanding positions on T + 11

What You Gain

Extended contra period for up to 10 days.
No interest of contra charges.

Transaction Costs

Brokerage

Transaction value of less than or equal to RM100,000 = 0.6%
Transaction value of greater than RM100,000 = 0.3%

Charges for contra within T+10

No contra and finance charges will be imposed

Charges incurred for shares picked up within T+10

Between T to T+3, no charges will be imposed
Between T+4 to T+10, a levy of 0.3% will be charged

Charges for losses incurred

BLR +2% for the outstanding losses

Required Documents

Standard Trading Application form
Two photocopies of NRIC/Passport
A copy of the latest annual income statement or latest 3 months' salary slips
Latest 3 months' bank statements

Malaysians and expatriates aged 18 years and above
